Residual Cog

The above XKCD comic goes a long way in summing up my philosophy towards the act, habit, or affliction (pick whichever suits you) of self-publication in the digital age. I try not to put on too much of a bullshit act in my Livejournal — yeah, it's pretty much impossible not to have a separate "internet persona", but I try. That's not to say I'm good at it; I post plenty of stupid shit, I rant about stuff more freely than I might in real life, I mostly comment on other people's journals to show how amazingly clever and witty I am... okay, I don't think I have a point to make here. But I do occasionally make "so deep they squeak" types of posts, and sometimes I've even made people type stuff like "LOL" and "ahahahaha", so I guess if you like that sort of thing, stick around.

I also co-author a Wordpress blog with the lovely porcelain72. Find us over at Deadly Stealth Frogs.

My personal website is here, but it's dormant, i.e. I can't really be bothered to do anything with it at the moment.

I recently friends-locked all of my posts prior to this year when I was feeling anxious and paranoid and curious to see if LJ's "mass security level changing thing" was worth a damn. Not that you care. As for the rest of my journal, I have a fetish for randomness, so sometimes I lock stuff, sometimes I don't. I don't have too much of a problem with you friending me. Most likely I'll reciprocate, unless you fit under one of the following categories:
  • contagiously stupid

Like one of my userpics? Check-a dis. I try to be good about giving credit to other people. If there's no credit, I probably made it. Yes you can steal it, and you can credit me or not, it's up to you.
